"The media's the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that's power. Because they control the minds of the masses."
― Malcolm X
The Internet was supposed to bring opportunity to all and democratize information so we could have more critical thinking and independent thought. For a while, I did just that. Then it became a proxy for the offline world dominated by centralized control from big government, crony corporatism and politics, and the mainstream media. Now Big Tech has joined the fray and made it so these powerful entities can control the public consciousness in real-time by tapping directly into the average person's brain through their smartphone. The power this has given to the powerful exploiting the narrative is incalculable. This control is a tyrant's wet dream. What this is doing is created more division. It is marginalizing more people and creating an increasingly fragile society prone to collapse. As it goes with every centralized entity in human history, those in power will continue gaining control until they suppress the people so much that their only choice will be a violent revolt. No one knows how this is going to play out. But one thing I know for sure is this: as more people develop their worldview from what the powerful feed them, the closer and faster we get to collapse. You cannot have a homogenized, centralized culture and bring prosperity and freedom to all. They are at odds. This is why every failed socialist, communist, fascist, or whatever-ist system ever devised was based on theory and twisted ideas of "better" but was always—and always will be—utter catastrophes because they ignored the laws of nature.Today, the self-proclaimed "anti-fascists" have become fascists.Today, those promoting "equality" discriminate based on skin color and are otherwise creating a divide rather than bringing people together.Today, governments worldwide are locking down and promoting masks for the optics and not the science while blatantly ignoring the reality that things like lockdowns end up taking more lives than the very thing they are supposedly protecting their citizens from.Humans are dumb more often than they are intelligent. If you look at science since the scientific revolution, you see most scientists being wrong most of the time. Most. Not sometimes. Not even half the time. MOST OF THE TIME. Humans delude themselves in more ways than one, and we often become the very thing they think they are fighting against. Such is the comedic irony of human nature. Why does history repeat itself? Because humans are humans, and we are designed for the wild, yet we've been doing this civilization thing for a mere 10,000 years. It'll probably take another 10,000 years before we can get somewhat good at it. Either that or we blow ourselves up first.
