Do you really become what you think?

Think back to your life.

Why have you done what you've done?

Did anyone physically make you do anything?

Has anyone ever physically made you think something?

Probably not to the former and def not to the latter.

No one can make you think anything.

And you could say the same for action. You may decide to do something because you don't want the side effects of not doing that thing, but the action is still your own, and it comes from your thoughts.

Sometimes the simplest secrets are hiding in plain sight.

Most people have little understanding and awareness of how the simple act of thinking works.

They become programmed algorithms that have solidified into routines based on their experiences, people, and expectations.

So they adopt false belief systems that make it easier for them to operate in everyday life.

That's an illusion.

Our behaviors form into habits, and then the conscious brain creates stories about why things are.

For as long as we have these stories, these "reasons why" we are who we are, we will forever remain who we are.

And if you want to become someone else, you have to change these stories.

Today's simple idea is to understand how powerful your thinking is—it directs everything in your life and always will.

Your brain is the ultimate machine and muscle. You either take care of it and learn how to program it to do your bidding, or it will take over and do whatever it wants—or worse, whatever someone else wants.

First, accept you have complete control over your mind. You may not be able to wrangle it under your control immediately, but taking responsibility leads to opportunities to retrain it.

Like any habit, this takes time and repetition and learning, and experimenting.

Over time, you'll gain more control over your thoughts. That will manifest into more control over your life.

And the more results you get from your focused thinking, the more those neural connections will strengthen in a good way. Eventually, you'll be a different person, a better person.
